Juli is a third generation veterinarian.  Juli's father, Dr. Edward Kennedy, established the first small animal housecall veterinary practice on the San Francisco peninsula in 1975, and continued his successful practice until retiring from the area in 2002.  Juli grew up helping her dad and always dreamed of being the country vet driving from home to home.  Juli followed family tradition and attended the Ohio State University.  There she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine as a Buckeye, just like her dad in 1970 and grandfather in 1950.  After dedicating 12 years working in extremely busy multi-doctor, multi-specialist veterinary hospitals on San Francisco's south peninsula, she decided to make the leap and follow her dream.  She moved to Bellingham in July of 2011 and established Cedar Grove Veterinary Housecalls soon after. This business enables Juli to practice the same high quality medicine and surgery she loves but in a much more personal manner.  She enjoys meeting each of her patients and their families in the comfort of their home, and having plenty of time to dedicate to each patient she sees.

A Word About Cedar Grove Vet Housecalls

Juli K. Murphy, DVM

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Ohio State University, 1999

Bachelor of Arts, Biology, University of California, Santa Cruz, 1993

Jill always had a passion for helping animals, and she started her career at the age of 15 as a kennel attendant at a veterinary hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Thirty plus years later, with 25 years of veterinary practice under her belt, her enthusiasm has not waivered. Jill worked for 18 years on the San Francisco peninsula, building a solid reputation and a dedicated clientele.
She worked for a prominent veterinary oncologist for 1-1/2 years managing the medical care of an average of 40 patients a day.  Prior to moving to Bellingham in 2011, she worked alongside an internal medicine specialist, neurologist, dermatologist, and other general practitioners (including Juli Murphy) in a large veterinary hospital for 13 years. Her interests are internal medicine, surgery, and oncology.  Jill loves practicing housecall medicine as it enables her to spend the time necessary for thorough observation, good communication, and to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients in need.
